Tasikmalaya Earthquake: Urgent Appeal
On Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009 an earthquake measuring 7.3 on the Richter scale struck the city of Tasikmalaya and the surrounding cities on the province of West Java in Indonesia. It claimed over 100 lives and injured thousands. Over 60,000 people have been left homeless, remaining in make-shift tents or without any form of shelter.
